Great golf course and range, staff always make me feel very welcome. Ignore the reviews from what looks like a small group of members taking it out on staff because its rained recently! Very unfair - my local course is much worse.
I have been playing golf here with a Loyalty card since 2003 and have noticed a remarkable deterioration of the course in recent years, but this year it is worse. I played there a few weeks ago and could not believe the state of the fairways and to top it off, the greens were long and unevenly cut in stripes as if it was a fairway, the bunkers have a lot of stones and very little sand, the tees are uneven, and it was hard to distinguish the fairways from the rough. I contacted the manager to complain and I had every excuse in the book thrown at me. I asked how they expected golfers to pay full green fee for the condition of the course and was basically told that they are the only centrally located 18 hole course in London implying that London golfers have no choice and are captive audience! Think twice before coming here if you want to have a good round. Consider places within the M25 that cost less with better playing conditions.
Probably the most enjoyable part of a round at course is going into the 19th hole to enjoy a drink and offerings from Barbara from the kitchen. The staff behind the bar (Andy, Emma & Co) are very accommodating.
On a final note, I’ve also seen positive reviews by ex employees and reviews by others that do no relate to the golf course which is just wrong and misleading.
Great place, my parents is staying in london for couple of month. So I was looking for 1month membership. This place offer 1month join, good value £105 for week days, £145 for weekend inc. they played on Tuesday, busy but mot really crowded. Good pizza 🍕!!!
And staffs are very helpful and friendly. Special thank you to Andy and very positive energy staff Emma. Both staff are the best 👍👍😇😇 thanks
Course in generally good condition, decent signage, you can generally make your way around the course with few issues (unlike some others I played around London recently). Very basic course layouts, fairways generally wide and well maintained. Greens were quite soft and slow, but generally consistent. A very common sight are players playing on your fairway to hit balls back to their own holes. Still though for the price the course is hard to beat for a public course in the London area.
Fantastic facilities! Have yet to play on this course, as I've been rained out several times. However, staff has always been accommodating with rebooking my session to another date. They can rebook up to 4 times.
The driving range is decent and a bit cheaper compared to local competitors. There are not a lot of bays, though.
Played here several weeks ago and enjoyed the shorter course. My experience was lovely . it was a bit wet but playable. I was dismayed yesterday reading some recent reviews as they seemed quite harsh. We have been closed 50% of the time in the last four weeks at my home course and trollies are currently not allowed. If you golfers have been able to play throughout the last month I think you have been quite fortunate. Amy (or Emma ?) in your clubhouse looked after us very kindly.
Some real golf snobs posting on here. Golf is for everyone beginners and experienced golfers alike. We would probably fall into the beginners category but still hacked our way round in four hours of very enjoyable golf. The Princes course is a good challenge with a nice mix of holes. Course pretty well maintained and good signposting. A nice clubhouse and shop with a driving range and practice putting green as well. Very friendly staff. Only observation after a most enjoyable visit would be that we wanted to have a drink and something to eat afterwards but the place seems to shut down at 6.00.
Over the last 5 years I've been generally impressed value for money LoyalTee package offered by Glendale and with the condition of the courses given the extremely high volume of traffic and challenges with weather given the fact it's on clay. Stoney bunkers and frequently crowned or poorly cut holes have always been a bugbear but over the last year or so the condition of both courses has deteriorated. This led myself and others to feedback both directly and here and I’m glad to see that some positive steps have been since last week in terms of additional temp greens, resting the Dukes course completely and, according to another member, some notable improvements on the back 9 on Princes. I hope the improvements continue as our courses have so much potential. Clubhouse is decent with good breakfast baps and pizza (coffee's dreadful). Some great staff, notably Emma, Barbara, Pedro, Sean, Klaus and some of the younger guys behind the bar.
